ATLAS - Stylish, strong and very clever!

The Nexus Alpha ATLAS pillar is a stylish design constructed from aluminium extrusions - a single extrusion forms the post with a flat extruded cover on the front face to allow access.

The design is flexible and can be adapted to support a wide range of displays such as HELIOS LCD (as illustrated on the right) and LED systems from other manufacturers.

It is also possible to fit additional hardware inside the pillar, for example:

  • HERMES computer for timetable management and communications support
  • Audio playback hardware
  • REACT and button triggers
  • HELP Point functions

ATLAS is at home in the most modern and stylish of surroundings, as on the right at a new prestigious shopping centre. It is equally at home on street, on platforms or in bus stations. And despite its stylish design and flexibility it is not expensive.

The ATLAS pillar is also designed to save costs. It can be fitted with a facility to allow the display to be wound down to chest height for easy access. Hence no staging is required either for initial fitting or for maintenance. This option can save considerable expense particularly at difficult sites where Health and Safety is an issue.

An ATLAS post being installed

With a post base fitted into the pavement, ATLAS needs no lifting gear or staging to put into position. It can easily be manhandled into place and bolted to the fixing. The fixing allows any degree of rotational movement so the only demand is that it is upright with the cabling coming up through the middle.

An ATLAS post being connected

Once bolted to the base, all the contents are at easy working height. Here you can see the display socket wound part way down.

The display being commissioned

With the socket wound down, not only can the display be fitted easily, but it also enables easy maintenance.
