Nexus Alpha Low Power Systems Range of Solar Powered Signs and Computers

During the past seven years, Nexus Alpha Low Power Systems (NALPS) has developed a suite of ultra-low power optimised electronics including:

  • A highly specified low power 0.5 Watt computer (HERMES Lite)
  • Solar powered information signs (CHRONOS)
  • Low power information systems for the visually impaired (ARIADNE)
  • A solar-optimised Power Supply Unit (GPSU)

These systems, together with our range of high efficiency solar panels allow for data capture and information presentation at remote locations where power and fixed line communications are not available. This allows:

  • Installation costs to be slashed
  • The total elimination of any reliance on mains/grid power
  • New and exciting applications at remote locations that were previously impractical
  • Where mains power is used, a typical reduction in power consumption of 90-95%

A New Way of Thinking and Our Challenge

NALPS provides what is described as a "disruptive" technology. Basically, it is new, and uses a fraction of the power of traditional systems. And it can be solar powered. So to make use of it requires a change. We are thrilled that both existing and new clients (such as HITRANS, Centro and VIA) have already started using these new energy efficient systems.
